These questions aren’t just about finding answers;
they’re about understanding the reasons and context behind them.
Growing up, I moved schools seven times because of my father’s job, which allowed me to meet people from different backgrounds. I attended both wealthy private schools and public schools with low-resources, and I realized that students see the world through different values and perspectives.
This helped me understand diverse experiences and cultures, and it sparked a desire to create meaningful artwork for people from all walks of life, which led me to pursue a degree in design.
While in art school, I learned an important lesson while organizing an exhibition: beautiful visuals alone aren’t enough. What matters is how they connect with people. This realization piqued my interest in advertising because, unlike design, advertising has the power to influence actions and change attitudes.
This is what led me to become an art director, and recently, I was honored to receive the Best of Show at the ADDY Awards. This experience reminded me of the impact advertising ideas can have on people.
Now, I’m moving forward toward greater challenges and growth. I want to turn insights into powerful ideas and take on projects that can make a bigger impact.
